Reitech SA has manufactured various special applications. Here are the following examples:

Piezo Conveyor

Piezo Conveyor.

When conveying at frequencies up to 400 Hz, transported materials almost float. This is now possible with a linear piezo conveyor.

The revolutionary PKF-Conveying system is the result of a joint research project between Reitech SA and Prause Durotec.

PKF is an acronym for Piezo Keramische Feder (German), which means Piezo Ceramic Spring. The conveyor is driven by composite leaf springs combined with piezo actuators. The leaf springs are supplied by Prause Durotec, based in Germany, who are a long standing partner of Reitech SA, while the bonding of the piezo actuators onto the composite leaf springs is conducted by another German company, Bühner & Schaible.

The drive runs at frequencies of up to 400 Hz and amplitudes of 0,1mm, which leads to an extremely gentle product handling, described as “floating”. The drive is controlled by an electronic control unit, which allows a stepless variable conveying speed from 0 to 17 m/min (283 mm/s).

The PKF-Conveyor has many advantages in comparison to conventional conveying systems.

Diamond Gap Sizer

Diamond Gap Sizer.

The Diamond Gap Sizer is a shape sorting machine for pre-sieved granular material. The material is fed by an adjustable vibratory conveyor on a piece by piece basis into the Gap Sizer, where it is classified into slots of 11 - 47mm in width.

Dynamic Side Wall Conveyor

Dynamic Side Wall Conveyor.

This conveyor is designed for an optical scanning application in the diamond mining industry. Product is scanned while completing a free fall. During the scanning process the product does not rotate around any of its own axes. This is achieved by ensuring that the product is static, relative to the conveyor belt, at point of discharge. To effect this, a conveyor “sidewall” exhibiting the same linear speed as the conveyor belt is incorporated. This ensures that after infeed, the product remains undisturbed during conveying even if it initially comes to rest against the sidewall.
